We started our investigation by running a keyword search for relevant media reports about Virat Kohli endorsing any betting app but could not find any. This is unlikely as a famous cricketer promoting a betting app would have been covered by mainstream media. Earlier, we have also debunked a similar deep fake video of Sachin Tendulkar promoting an online gaming app.

First, we conducted an online search to determine if Virat Kohli has ever endorsed such a gaming application. We found no reports or mentions of him endorsing such an application on his social media platforms. A video is going viral on social media, purportedly as a news segment presented by Aaj Tak anchor Shweta Singh on a betting app called Aviator, with Virat Kohli giving his testimony on how he earned money on the app.

After former Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar’s deepfake video spread like wildfire on social media, star batter Virat Kohli has become a victim of the same. We have earlier debunked a  similar deep fake video of Sachin Tendulkar   promoting an online gaming app. In these cases  too, as the viral videos featuring Akshay Kumar   and Virat Kohli endorsing gaming or betting  apps are deep fakes, these posts are fake.
